Responsibilities:

Summary:

This position provides both Maintenance and Reliability services within Maintenance teams championing executional excellence and asset health improvement efforts. This role will be directly involved in the continued implementation and leadership of a progressive and integrated Reliability Improvement effort in a large-scale multiple product processing facility.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and foster Michael Foods culture, values and principles.
  • Adherence to Plant safety, food safety, sanitation standards, and following all GMP guidelines.
  • Ability to conduct investigation, and report communications accurately of all incidents and work-related injuries.
  • Direct supervise a team of 4 – 8 maintenance professionals. Conducts timely and thorough Performance Management evaluations within the spirit of the program. 
  • Planning and Scheduling Responsibilities:
    • Update and Maintain SAP Database through planners
    • Ensures execution on Maintenance workflow process through partnership with maintenance supervisors and gate keepers.
    • Develop and update scope of work plans and bring to execution through scheduling
    • Serves as the location SAP expert and trainer for the site.
    • Assists with asset technical knowledge and SAP Master Data which includes Procedures, Specifications, BOM’s, Drawings, etc.
    • Able to complete all functions/transactions at an expert skill level, including training.
    • Involved in Facility Maintenance budget process and is responsible for using maintenance and reliability principles to improve the facility costs and productivity.
  • Preventative and Predictive Program Responsibilities:
    • Supplies input for Preventive Maintenance program optimization, and content.
    • Executes the maintenance department Predictive Maintenance (Pd.M.) Program, Precision Program which includes vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, ultrasonic, and motor circuit analysis.
    • Works with maintenance, and operation teams to improve knowledge-base, techniques, and procedures supporting equipment reliability.
    • Provides input for root cause analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance to create an environment of continuous asset reliability improvement. Will champion the Plant’s RCM and RCA process.
    • Supply support for equipment upgrades, major restorations, obsolescence conversions, continuous improvement engineering solutions.
    • Collaborates with other Maintenance & Reliability teams (internal and external) to share in benchmarking, best practices, etc.
  • Storeroom Responsibilities:
    • Acts as or supervises Plant buyer for all goods & services that includes MRO, and Facility Services.
    • Negotiates and procures competitive bids for items as necessary.
    • Manages supplier relationships and conduct annual formal evaluations of suppliers as applicable.
    • Reviews all local contracts to ensure that the terms and conditions are in the best interest of MFI.
    • Works with Plant management to effectively resolve vendor performance issues.
    • Leads and directs all Plant indirect goods & services procurement, ensuring proper approvals, appropriate taxation and adherence to MFI Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Provide occasional off-hours critical equipment technical support in 24/7 operations.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

EDUCATION:

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or another related engineering/technical field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Plant Maintenance & Reliability Engineering or similar technical role

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams.
  • Experience using root cause analysis, and predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, infrared, acoustic emissions, tribology, etc.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical equipment and systems (e.g. pumps, fans, dryers, bearings, seals, etc.)

Preferred

  • Experience in Continuous Industrial Processing and Equipment is preferred over discrete manufacturing.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of SAP Maintenance or another EAM/CMMS.
