Business Hours: Mon- Fri, 9am – 6pm

Job Overview: This person will be part of a team that assists with the construction of our restaurant locations from the early stages of planning all the way through the final stages of construction. We are looking for someone that can read and understand construction plans, has the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and who is well organized and can multi-task.

The responsibilities listed here are not all-inclusive; they indicate the types of activities usually performed by this position. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate core competencies in the following areas:

  • Understanding architectural and engineering drawings, understanding building procedures and methods.
  • Coordinate and carry out design with architect of the prototypical standards for the brand’s design, architectural planning, and related engineering practices.
  • Update existing prototypical designs for various restaurant models for the brand.
  • Assist in updating specification book for design, furniture, fixture and equipment.
  • Assist in creating the next generation of prototypical designs for the brand.
  • Assist in designing the architectural plans with the most optimal design and configuration that meet the company brand standards, operational requirements, landlord requirements and regulatory agency requirements.
  • On-site visits and in-field verification of as-built conditions.
  • On-site visits to check on construction progress and help resolve issues.
  • Liaison between project manager, general contractors, subcontractors, and material vendors as necessary.
  • Coordinate with project management and vendors and keep projects on schedule.
  • Answering RFI’s in a timely manner or relaying issues back to the A.O.R. or engineer.
  • Review, understand, and relay change orders to the supervisor for approval.
  • Work with consultants to create and update the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, civil, landscaping and other engineering requirements and standards for the company. Ensure the construction documents for each project are properly designed with such engineering standards.
  • Review projects to ensure that the current set of designs reflects the latest company standards.
  • Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, renderings, etc.
  • Attending on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings to help resolve project issues.
  • Understand the scope of work and contracts documents, including drawings, specifications, design and contracts as well as regulatory requirements associated with each project plan.
  • Coordinate with the project development team and contractions and execute all documents required to obtain entitlements, permits and licenses.
  • Communicate with Project Development Team and contractors and execute all documents required to obtain entitlement, permits and licenses.
  • Communicate effectively with all parties to complete various phases of the project and ensure that projects are completed with minimal disruptions and delays.
  • Order and coordinate furniture, fixture, equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Fill out and submit applications.
  • Coordinate and file all documents, permits and as built drawings.
  • Provide support for warranty work related to the projects.
  • Research vendors, suppliers and contractors.
  • Compose sign packages for landlord approvals and coordinate with sign vendors for permit submission, fabrication, and installation.
  • Other duties designated by the company as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in the coordination and design of project management activities
  • Knowledge of Arizona and California building codes and ADA standards
  • knowledge of
    • Microsoft office suite (word, excel, outlook)
    • AutoCAD
    • Adobe pdf; Bluebeam
    • InDesign (preferred)
    • Adobe photoshop (preferred)
    • Adobe illustrator (preferred)
    • Sketchup (preferred)
  • Construction management experience is a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidates must be tech-savvy and comfortable with the use of technology in the workplace.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Interior Design, Architecture or a related field is a plus.
