We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Associate, CPA to join our dynamic finance team. As a Tax Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional tax services to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to further their career in the finance industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review complex tax returns: You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing various tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns. Your attention to detail and expertise in tax laws and regulations will ensure accuracy and compliance.
2. Conduct tax research: Stay updated with the latest tax laws, regulations, and rulings. Conduct thorough research to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying tax planning opportunities and minimizing tax liabilities.
3. Assist in tax planning and consulting: Collaborate with clients and senior team members to develop effective tax strategies. Provide expert advice on tax implications for business decisions, mergers and acquisitions, and other financial transactions. Your strategic thinking and strong analytical skills will be essential in maximizing tax benefits for our clients.
4. Communicate with clients and authorities: Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor. Effectively communicate complex tax matters in a clear and concise manner. Liaise with tax authorities on behalf of clients, resolving any tax-related issues or inquiries.
5. Support tax audits and compliance: Assist clients during tax audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA): Possess an active CPA license, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the accounting profession. Your knowledge of accounting principles and regulations will be crucial in performing tax-related tasks effectively.
2. Tax senior associate experience: Have a minimum of 2+ years of experience as a tax senior associate or in a similar role. Your previous experience in tax preparation, research, and planning will enable you to excel in this position.
3. Strong tax knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Stay updated with changes in tax legislation and demonstrate the ability to apply tax rules effectively.
4. Attention to detail: Exhibit a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tax-related tasks. Thoroughly review tax returns and research findings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
5. Analytical and problem-solving skills: Demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically. Solve complex tax issues and provide valuable insights to clients. Your ability to identify tax planning opportunities will be crucial in maximizing client satisfaction.
6. Excellent communication skills: Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Effectively communicate complex tax matters to clients and colleagues in a clear and concise manner. Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor.
