South Coast Paper is seeking qualified applicants for Machine Operators located in Maplesville, AL. South Coast Paper is an independently-owned paper converting facility. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required for all positions. All candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime. South Coast Paper offers an excellent benefits package. This position has the primary responsibility of product staging, machine set up, and operation. The operator will work in a team of 4-6 people who manage the sheeting and packing of products to meet customers’ needs.

 

Compensation:

Salary compensation with experience within South Coast Paper salary structure, medical benefits, and generous vacation.

 

Machine Operator

I. Equipment Operations

· Operate Sheeting and Packaging equipment to produce a quality product

· Size change and adjust equipment to maximize efficiency

· Maintain production equipment to meet production and quality expectations

· Perform equipment maintenance tasks as needed and directed

II. Quality Systems & Inventory Management

· Perform quality audits on all phases of production

· Systematic movement and handling of finished and unfinished goods

· Entering material movement into inventory systems

III. Packaging

· Staging products to meet daily production schedule

· Performing quality control protocols as required

IV. Computer Systems Interaction

· Scanning and documentation of production and packaging usage

· Troubleshooting system issues with daily functions

· Perform other documentation tasks as requested

· Continual learning and skill development

Qualifications

· Able to compute numbers using a calculator

· Reading from a tape measure

· Machine operation experience desirable

· Mechanical/Electrical skills desirable

· Ability to solve problems

· Attention to detail

· Fanatic about producing a quality product

· Computer literate

· Must pass a Drug Test and Background check
