The Position:
The Medical Center Receptionist provides secretarial support, including patient scheduling, appointments, confidential records, prepping patient charts, and filing. The receptionist is also responsible for the efficient operation of the front office. Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
What You Will Do:
Collecting co-payments and cash payments
Maintaining and requesting supplies needed
Answering telephones and scheduling appointments
Check fax machine and distributing faxes accordingly
Checking in the patients and collecting co-pays at appointment times
Make follow up appointment as patients leave the office and follow up with cancellations and no shows
Maintaining the waiting room, including office music, television, and heating/cooling
Screening incoming calls and routine calls; taking detailed messages such as patients name, dob, pharmacy name and number along with medications name, before forwarding to clinical staff and doctors
Checking in all patients, including assisting in filling out all required forms and insurance information so billing is completed and accurate
Greeting, acknowledging and directing everyone who walks through the door, being sensitive to each patients needs and fears

The Ideal Candidate:
High School Graduate
Excellent telephone skills
Must be willing to travel if needed
Typing skills of 50wpm (preferred )
Basic knowledge of patient accounting and insurance systems
Data entry and basic computer skills such as excel, word, outlook etc;
Basic knowledge of the requirement for patient schedule and processing for pain procedures
Must be able to adapt quickly to office routine and to work with frequent interruptions
Knowledge in medical terminology and protocol
Knowledge of patients rights and medical-legal aspects for release of information (I.e., HIPAA guidelines)
Must pay attention to detail, stay organized, be flexible and have good communication skill
