Position Purpose:


Provide partnership and proficient professional recruitment skills in hiring DC hourly staff. Represent Petco to the external market in a professional, driven and proactive manner to promote our CO-values, support the timely hiring of critical talent and ensure that the organization has the necessary resources to achieve its business objectives.

  • Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with      all professional contacts such as applicants, hiring managers and agencies with emphasis on company interests and in accordance with legal regulations governing Human Resources and employment practices
  • Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
  • Analyze written and oral information and make recommendations and/or decisions  
  • Operate a computer terminal using word processing and spreadsheet software as well as an HRIS database and Applicant Tracking System.

Supervisory Responsibility: None


Work Environment:

The majority of job duties are performed while seated indoors with little or no exposure to hazards. Local travel via automobile to job fairs or conferences may be required.

Education/Experience:


High school diploma or the equivalent (GED) is required, while a four (4) year degree is preferred.  This position requires a familiarity of employment practices and 2-5 years recruiting experience. High volume recruiting experience strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills are necessary for interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, communicating with internal and external customers and writing advertisements, offer letters, policies and procedures, etc.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and applicant tracking systems.
