About this job

To develop a coordinated strategy for and manage the purchase and inventory of equipment repair parts and services and office supplies and services across a network of multiple manufacturing sites.


To create visibility and tracking metrics in the area of responsibility. To find and capitalize on opportunity for increased network synergy , efficiency and productivity in area of responsibility.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Vendor Relations

Identify and developing relationships with Suppliers

Help qualify suppliers

Create and maintain vendor data







Negotiation

Compare pricing across suppliers

Develop consistent pricing across all buying centers

Negotiate for best value delivered pricing

Identify CAE (commercially available equivalent) parts vs. OEM parts purchases to reduce replacement parts pricing

Establish favorable discount schedules with preferred suppliers

Ensure price inflation caps







Develop Budget Process

Project price trends

Develop budgets and track price variances

Maintain SOP documentation related to store room functions (receiving, cycle counting, physical inventories, obsolete parts disbursement/reconciliation)







Drive Efficiency

Drive Synergy and Standardization across the network

Establishing vendor managed inventory opportunities, i.e. Fasteners, Fuses, PPE, etc.

Develop component repair/rebuild programs with applicable vendors and suppliers

Establish Parts Maintenance Agreements (PMA) with appropriate vendors based on plant need

Evaluate and capitalize on parts consignment opportunities

Identify service and supply improvement opportunities (like vendor/ supplier lead crib crawls)





Tracking metrics

Develop visibility to inventories and activities

Develop and track metrics in the area











QUALIFICATIONS:
Expertise in SAP, Word, Excel
Self-Starter
Inter- personal communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation
Negotiation skills
Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes
Project management skills
Analytical, planning and problem solving skills

PREFERRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years of work experience in Indirect Buying functions in Consumer Goods Manufacturing, including MRO management.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in related field
