Description

The Forklift Drivers duties are to safely and efficiently manage the receipt, internal movement (to include warehouse organization, and good housekeeping), manufacturing support, and shipment of raw materials, and machinery to satisfy our internal and external customer needs. Forklift operators work in a variety of areas in the plant. They load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and move materials to the production areas. Forklift drivers in some parts of the warehouse will remove and place up to 6000 pound loads onto stacks up to 20 feet high. Since these individuals have such a critical impact on our material inventory, they are designated as “inventory personnel” and may be assigned reports and paperwork that pertain to these duties.

  • Previous experience preferred.
  • Ability to read materials to understand and apply content, such as instruction manuals, procedure manuals, or assembly materials.

  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety rules.
  • Ability to independently complete tasks as assigned by others. Only unusual problems are referred to more experienced staff.
  • Ability to communicate to explain or interpret business issues where some precedent exists (e.g., dealing with vendors on non-standard issues, dealing with outside professionals, etc.).
