Title: PARK ATTENDANT (TITLETOWN)

Classification: Non-Exempt; Hourly

Level: Level 5; Seasonal (April/May to October)

Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin

Reports to: Titletown Programs and Events Manager

Supervises: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective:

As an ambassador for the park, attendants will need to be informative and helpful to all. For each area, the park attendant must be aware of rules and should be able to actively demonstrate or explain games, activities and programs to participants. All park and program equipment must be accounted for and maintained by attendant. The attendant assists with setting up all games/activities, supervising them and instructing guests. Candidates must be outgoing and capable of acting as an ambassador for the park by being informative and helpful to all visitors. This seasonal position is part-time (up to 20 hours per week) and will start spring/summer 2018 and work through October/November 2018.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a host for the park, engage with visitors, and facilitate positive visitor experiences.
  2. Ability to work either mornings or evenings and to work some weekend hours.
  3. Ability to work outdoors in a park setting.
  4. Monitor games, programs and other activities and be actively involved by obtaining participant waivers, assisting with the setup of program equipment, taking photos and troubleshooting problems.
  5. Coordinate with park facilities staff for set up of programs and activities.
  6. Report safety issues and concerns to security staff.
  7. Maintain programming records and data entry.
  8. Opening and closing of game/activity areas on a daily basis.
  9. Take direction from management staff regarding special assignments.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Currently enrolled in school, pursuing a degree, or graduate, with interest in recreational management, communications, education, customer service, or events management.
  2. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  3. Responsible and detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
  4. Willingness and desire to get hands dirty.
  5. Outgoing, fun, curious, mature, positive, and a self-starter.
  6. Experience or a demonstrated interest in customer service, events and recreation.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  1. Ability to reach, bend, climb, and lift on a frequent basis.
  2. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently.
  3. Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  4. Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  5. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
  6. Ability to focus on projects for periods of time.
  7. Operates in a professional environment.
  8. Role may use equipment and machinery.

 

Travel: No regular travel is expected for this position.
