The Employee Representative is a role model and advocate for Wegmans values and ensures an environment of equal opportunity for all to succeed. In this role, you will be an objective adviser, facilitator, coach and consultant to management and employees, while ensuring HR programs and practices are executed successfully.

  • Build relationships with employees by walking production floors, engaging in conversations, and always being available to help
  • Coordinate and educate employees about programs including medical, dental, 401K/savings, benefit programs, EAP, compensation, disability, worker’s compensation, FMLA, scholarship, and recognition

Results (What We Measure)

  • Advise, coach and educate managers on all aspects of Human Resources practices including staffing, training, development, performance management and compliance
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to forecast staffing needs and ensure we are Hiring the Best
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal laws and Wegmans’ policies, procedures and practices

Work Environment

  • Works involves continuous interaction with co-workers in fast-paced environment
  • Work includes sitting for prolonged periods, along with repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Work requires frequent use of the telephone and computer
  • Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 1 - 5 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 10 pounds occasionally

    • 2-4 years as an HR Generalist/ Manager
    • 1 or more years of Employee Relations experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the internet)
    • Demonstrated experience using HR technology systems
    • Ability to build effective relationships across a large and diverse group of employees
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of study preferred
    • High level knowledge of retail and the Human Resources industry preferred
