IT Applications Architect, Senior

Position Mission: 

Responsible for providing store systems development team direction in regards to building the tools and processes required to quickly deliver quality solutions to the field.  This individual will lead the vision to migrate our existing process/platform into a nimble, iterative platform whose main focus is quality and speed to market.  In this role, the Sr. application Architect is responsible for being the liaison between the development teams and the operations teams (hardware support, tool support, store support, etc).  Will work with other leaders, Architects and developers to provide a best in class solution for NAPA stores.  

Responsibilities:  

• Responsible for working with vendor and internal resources to determine a transition strategy. Then work with those teams to execute strategy.
• Provide operations knowledge to development team to assist in solving problems and architecting solutions.
• Provides best practice guidance to team.
• Develops strong knowledge of NAPA store solutions. 

Experience, Education, and Abilities:  

• Experience in iterative team environment.
• Knowledge of Agile, DevOps process and ability to implement those in a new environment. 
• 15+ yrs experience working with enterprise level software
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Experience with the following technologies (bold identifies main technologies)
  • Linux
  • JAVA
  • JBoss
  • HornetQ
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
  • Scala
• Strong experience in large scale environments with 000’s of endpoints and very large transaction intensive database systems
• Experience in retail environments a plus
• Must be self-motivated, persistent, and a consummate team player.
• Work is performed in typical office environment
