POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Performs a variety of supervised tasks in helping to maintain and repair manufacturing machinery, tooling and associated support equipment used to produce, inspect and sterilize products. This is the intermediate-level technician position in Manufacturing Maintenance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Inspects and repairs production and support equipment, using mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum technologies

* Assists in troubleshooting equipment failures and repairs, and assists in equipment modifications according to written specifications

* Assists other technicians as directed

* Works from prints and sketches to assist in layout work, parts fabrication, and assembly

* Carries out preventive and predictive maintenance per established schedules and task listings

* Maintains hand and special tools and related equipment; uses hand and powered tools, precision test equipment and instruments as required

* Observes standard and prescribed safety and good maintenance procedures, and applies good housekeeping practices in work areas at all times

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

* Detail oriented, quick learner, able to retain complex technical information

* Ability to follow departmental and safety procedures

* Must have good mechanical aptitude

* Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in the English language

* Ability to lift considerable weight on an occasional basis

Ability to safely use general maintenance hand tools

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School, Trade School / Electro-Mechanical preferred

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Three (3) year of general / electro-mechanical maintenance experience

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Computer skills are required
