Responsible for working as part of the stage carpentry team to install, maintain, and position scenic elements and acrobatic equipment in a safe and consistent manner.

  • Run cue tracks to position scenic elements and related equipment as directed for performances, artist training, and maintenance.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, stage, and backstage areas; update maintenance and inspection records as directed.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all backstage equipment specific to the production in order to operate equipment safely.
  • Participate in special projects, including the construction and installation of new scenic show elements.
  • Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training.
  • Assist with repairs and projects of scenery, props and facility.
  • Support rehearsals and trainings as required by department head, artistic and stage management.
  • Oversee offstage storage of set elements.
  • Assist other departments as needed to run the performances and rehearsals.
  • Clean and maintain theatre, showroom, shop and warehouse facilities as directed.
  • Document repairs and assist in the documentation of other equipment, systems, supplies, parts and procedures to ensure the ongoing integrity of all department-related show items.
  • Perform all other job related duties as requested.

Required:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Audio in the operations and maintenance of large scale production show.
  • Previous experience with standard cabinetry construction techniques and experience working with preventive maintenance programs.
  • Previous experience with basic power and hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of standard theatrical rigging hardware and techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with computer-aided drafting & design Programs and scenic painting.
  • Formal fall protection and overall safety training.
  • Woodworking, floor repair, fiberglass, metalworking, rigging, welding, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical skills.
  • Training in scene technology.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
