LSS is looking for a Program Supervisor for Family Preservation Program in Wausau, WI.

Family Preservation program staff provide in-home and community based-therapy to youth and families at-risk. The goal of family preservation is to keep families together and prevent out-of-home placements by utilizing client strengths and community resources to help children and families thrive in their homes, schools, and communities. Families may be experiencing difficulties related to child or adolescent behavior and mental health concerns, as well as the effects of child abuse or neglect, trauma and poverty.

Position is split: 1/2 Supervisor and 1/2 Therapist. Ideal candidate will have Specialties/Knowledge/Interest in following area:  Children and Family.  Candidate must have, or be eligible  to obtain one of the following licenses: MFT,APSW, LPC,LPC-IT, MST.  Position will oversee services provided in following counties: Marathon, Langlade, Lincoln, Taylor County, Waupaca,Shawano County, Portage County.

The Program Supervisor has day-to-day responsibilities for one or more programs within the Business Unit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, effective coordination of day-to-day program operations, direct supervision of program staff, ensuring the program meets  licensing and/or contract requirements, ensuring agency best practice standards are met.   

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Serves as a representative of the agency to internal and external customers regarding the work of programs and services.
  • Works as a collaborative team member to support the Continuum of Care model.
  • Participates in the compilation of an annual budget.
  • Oversees budget expenditures and makes adjustments to meet the financial goals of the program.
  • Ensures quality programming through the use of best practice standards and contract/licensing requirements.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related program is required.  Practicum experience, through your degree program, related to services LSS provides is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Eligibility for training license by meeting criteria set for by WI Department of Safety and Professional Services. Some positions may require Substance Abuse Certification preferred
  • Considerable knowledge of counseling and casework principles and methods.
  • Working knowledge of welfare, health, mental health and community resources.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations governing the delivery of social services.
  • Working knowledge of human behavior, dynamics of groups, interpersonal relations, and social interactions.
  • Working knowledge of social problems and their effects on individuals.
  • Ability to provide or coordinate skilled treatment to clients
  • Ability to organize and plan work effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships.
  • Ability to prepare and present detailed and complex reports.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

The incumbent of this position must be able and willing to drive on behalf of the agency by having a valid Driver’s License and vehicle – Motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required. Must pass a Caregiver Background.

TRAVEL:  

Position may travel daily between programs. May travel over the two state area on occasion for training and meetings and may include some overnights.
