Plant Control Operator (NIght Shift)

Plant Operators will communicate with the lead man on any task needing attention. Responsible for controlling the operations of our automated plant through the use of computerized control equipment. This is an above ground position outside of the mine in our automated processing plant. This is a dynamic operation with constantly evolving conditions. The Plant Operator must be able to respond to new responsibilities when they are presented, and must demonstrate the ability to operate equipment such as pumps, valves, conveyors, dryers, belt filters, measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment. They must be able to quickly and accurately collect and analyze data in order to quickly make changes and improvements when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Comply with all policies, procedure and housekeeping practices.
•  Performed Job Safety Analysis for every task or project being completed and VCR’s.
• Know the Process Start up, Process Shutdown; Under Flow and Over Flow interpretations.
• Hot Work: Welding, torching, and grinding anywhere on-site.
•  Will be responsible for Control Room Operations, Process Flow, Floatex, Belt Filter, Thickener, Floc System and Dryer Operations.
• Knowledge of ball configuration; Screen size and how it is used and date reporting on screen work done.
• Confined space requirements and practices; lock out tag out procedures logs and all aspects.
• Reports near misses, injuries, procedures, and communicates with the Plant team.

   

Qualifications:

• Knowledge on how to use Microsoft Excel for date entry
• Good Communication Skills
• Knowledge of Pattison Sand Company’s Policy and Procedures
• Be flexible to schedules and helping other departments.

   

Working conditions and Expectations:

• Works twelve hour shifts
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to communicate and coordinate with coworkers and supervisors
• Must have high safety standards for self and others
• Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends and holidays
• Must have the ability to stand for 6-12 hours on uneven sandy/rocky surfaces
• Must have the ability to be seated for up to 6 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
• Must have the ability to lift 60 to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance
• Must have the ability to bend or stoop
• Must have the ability to climb on and off equipment and ladders
• Must be able to work at heights
• Must have the ability to work in damp, dimly lit and confined work areas

• Shift Details

• Night Shift Differential of $2.00 /per hour
• Schedule 2 week rotation schedule/ 12 hours shifts / OT paid for hours over 40
• Week 1- Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat
• Week 2 - Sun, Wed, Thurs
