Position: Electrical Drafter
Duration: Long term 6 months+ (potential contract-to-hire)
Location: Downtown, Chicago IL
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Entry-level for persons who have developed basic drafting technology knowledge and skills through training and/or experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Revise existing drawings and prepare drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts with explicit verbal instructions. Successfully plot drawings. Learn and follow company and client drafting standards and procedures. Learn the practices of selected discipline.
COMPUTER-AIDED DRAFTING CAPABILITIES:
Experience with basic commands of at least one type of CAD system. Occasionally use higher-level commands, timesaving programs and routines.
DISCIPLINE KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledgeable of drafting theory. Specific discipline knowledge is not required.
AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY:
Works under close supervision. Receive specific instructions, requirements and advice from supervisor. Completed work is checked for technical accuracy and adherence to company drafting standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma and course work in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification or 1 year relevant drafting experience.
Experience with drafting substations highly desired
