LABORATORY TEST ENGINEER
Independent test laboratory located in Grass Lake, MI, seeks a laboratory test engineer for setup and test of water and/or oil filtration tests. Successful candidate must have an associate's degree in science or engineering or equivalent work experience. Requires strong mechanical, observational, recording and math skills.
Responsibilities include performing hands-on filtration testing with detailed, methodical laboratory lab book completion, and gathering data and data preparation for test reports.
Specific laboratory test skills include:
-Performing test procedures from published test methods
-Calculations detailing test setup requirements (flow and velocity)
-Selection of appropriate measurement equipment (flow meters, pressure gauges, particle sensors)
-Detailed diagram of test setup
-Compliance with test stand validation requirements
-Test instrument calibration
-Gather and record specific test data
-Compiling test data for final test report
-Diagnosis and resolution of test related issues
General knowledge requirements include:
-Mathematic calculations for flow, velocity and area
-Understanding of fluid flow
-Test laboratory experience
Experience: 4 or more years preferred
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
