SUMMARY:

Responsible for implementing and ensuring that the operations of Maintenance Employees are efficient and productive in completing assigned projects and duties and in compliance with Company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Maintains all mechanical equipment in working conditions, ensures all worn parts are replaced; maintains parts inventory stock.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the maintenance functions in the absence of the Director of Facilities.
  • Assists in the selection, training, supervision and evaluation of the maintenance engineers.
  • Approves and reviews all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, assign, evaluate, discharge all subordinate employees on assigned shift.
  • Responsible for implementing safety programs to ensure all employees and customers are provided a safe, hazard free establishment.
  • Conducts daily inspections of property and project areas to ensure efficient operations and to trouble shoot any problems or breakdowns.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all general maintenance and repairs of minor problems throughout the property are promptly and correctly done.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises all Maintenance personnel.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. Two to four years' experience as a Maintenance Engineer required along with training and experience in a mechanical field.


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
