About this job
The host/hostess position is responsible for greeting customers in a warm and friendly manner at the door, seat and present customers with menus in a quick professional manner, generating sales, maintaining cleanliness within the restaurant, operating a cash register and Point of Sale system, and comply with all company policies.
Major Responsibilities: Primary duties include but are not limited to:
• Great & seat guests, present menus to guests, communicate to server
• Interact with guests as they leave to ensure a positive dine in experience
• Process cash, credit card, or gift card payments
• Strive to exceed our guests’ expectations
• Record names on a wait list, quote accurate wait times & pass out buzzers
• Assign server sections
• Decide server cut times
• Help maintain beer inventory
• Observe tables and keep track of clean/dirty/occupied tables
• Answer phones and questions concerning the restaurant and the menu
• Place walk in orders and phone order
• Maintain personal hygiene
• Check server side work and complete hosts side work
• Other duties as directed

Physical Requirements: A host/cashier must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and carry heavy objects (i.e. high chair) through the restaurant, stand their entire shift, and communicate clearly.

Typical Work Week: 15-20 hours
