Summary
Responsible for supporting projects focused on manufacturing and/or Warehouse layout, process design, equipment specification and implementation. Aid in the planning, design, and implementation of efficient systems that integrate machinery, staff, resources and information to streamline product development and/or processes. Support projects and efforts to analyze, develop and evaluate systems. Assist with the improvement and maintenance of current systems, and/or supports the creation of new projects. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timelines, quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of strategies and services.

Essential Functions

* Participate in department and interdepartmental projects and planning teams; works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization and support the success of project(s).
* Follows established guidelines and procedures to ensure that workflow, layout, and safety measures are considered during design and implementation.
* Facilitate assigned project assignments to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
* Supports efforts to draft and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency.
* Shares and explains product or system layout, detailed drawings and schematics.
* Supports efforts to analyze test data to determine feasibility of product proposal, and whether the design meets function and performance specifications.
* Aid in the analysis of data.
* Prepare status reports to aide leadership in determining if modifications to schedules or plans are required.
* Partners with the business and engineers to resolve problems; and make design modifications as appropriate.
* Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
* High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
* Bachelor degree; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of facility design experience.
* Ability to read and understand a process flow diagram and design mechanical drawings.
* Exposure to OSHA requirements.
* Proficient level experience with MS Excel, MS Word,
* Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
* Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
* Required to travel 20% of the time.
* Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.


Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations Management.
* 5 years of industrial facility design experience at a high-growth Manufacturing and/or Warehouse environment.
* Ability to read blueprints.
* Experience with both 2D and parametric modeling CAD software.
* Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor.
* Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
* Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
* Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and/or Manufacturing Management Systems (MMS).

Compensation

  1. Hiring Hourly Rate: $32.21- $40.24
  2. Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
