Collins Aerospace is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to work onsite in our Cheshire, CT location.

This is an onsite position for a high performing individual as a quality assurance tech, who will manage projects and processes to ensure overall quality performance improves across the Cheshire site. This position will require regular communication with parties both internal and outside of manufacturing and quality regarding process and systems improvements. The role will have a strong focus on document control processes related to AS9100 quality system requirements and First Article Inspection (FAI)

This is an ONSITE position in Cheshire, CT, this position may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conducts research and collects data to evaluate potential solutions to improve quality performance within the site including proactive quality projects, SRR improvements, or quality clinic projects.
  • Establishes and implements quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs.
  • Reviews and provides input to potential quality improvement projects.
  • Assists in the development and management of PFMEAs and Control Plans.
  • Coordinates and helps to facilitate manufacturing process reviews (MPRs) as well as manages follow up actions within the sites in the portfolio.
  • Plans, leads and facilitates data driven CORE (Lean) events within the site to improve quality performance.
  • Communicates with site and quality leadership.
  • Drives and initiates Relentless Root Cause Analysis for quality issues to improve throughput and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the documentation control process for the AS9100 quality management system, including the creation, review, approval, distribution, and archiving of documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and update documentation as necessary to reflect changes in processes, procedures, or regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of document records and identify any discrepancies or non-conformities.
  • Develop and maintain document control procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency in the management of documents.
  • Provide training and support to employees on document control procedures and requirements.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in or with the Cheshire business.
  • Coachable and willing to be fully engaged in all aspects of Quality principles and activities.
  • Works well with team-mates with a positive outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Preferred knowledge of Collins processes & procedures

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
