Construction Foreman

Volt is immediately hiring for Construction Foreman in Bakersfield, CA!
This is a Direct Hire Opportunity!
As a Construction Foreman you will:
• Perform advanced field work under the instruction of the project manager or owner
• Lead a crew of laborer I and IIs, which entails teaching, delegating, and basic conflict resolution
• Turn in time cards, AmEx expense logs, and per diem expense logs weekly
• Turn in dailies / service work orders daily
• Must be able to identify all parts regularly installed
• Schedule inspections with regulating agencies or request inspections 72 hrs in advance with project manager / office manager
• Communicate with the project manager or owner directly about employee wellbeing, conflicts, abilities, and inabilities.
• Communicate with the project manager or owner about construction progress and expectations
• Be able to identify if work falls within the scope of a job's contract
• Maintain certifications necessary for installation of all regularly installed equipment
• Order supplies as needed for job sites including small parts and equipment.
• Maintain tools and a work vehicle

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must either carry an active ICC certification for U1 (UST Retrofitting / Installation) or have previously carried this ICC certification. Candidates without an active U1 certification will be required to pass the U1 exam within 90 days of hiring.
• Prior experience in a foreman position leading a crew is strongly preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects and operate equipment safely
• Must be willing to pass several required industry certifications within 90 days of beginning of employment
• Must be able to work with the same 2-3 people on a regular basis in a cooperative and positive manner
• Must hold and maintain a valid CA class C Driver's License
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Pay Rate is $30 -36 per hour DOE
The ideal candidate will have:

• Having the ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and equipment manuals to determine proper work procedures.
• Being willing to receive training and certification for the following: forklift, man lifts, cranes, rigging, and overhead cranes, etc. willing to weld Stainless Steel and other metals utilizing TIG, MIG, Arc and Oxy-acetylene welding.
• Ability to work and participate in a team based environment.
• Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, neat work areas, shops, vehicles, storage areas, etc.
