School Psychologist - Slaterville, VA

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate School Psychologist to join our team in Slaterville, VA. As a contracted School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students within the school district.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.
  • Interpret assessment results and collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies.
  • Provide direct services, including counseling and behavior intervention, to support students' social-emotional development and academic success.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, develop intervention plans, and make recommendations for educational placement.
  • Assist in the implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at promoting positive school climate and student mental health.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support the implementation of evidence-based practices and interventions in the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
  • Valid Virginia state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills, including experience with standardized testing instruments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and other stakeholders.
  • Dedication to promoting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
