Inventory Specialist

JOB TITLE: Inventory Specialist

REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager

DAYS: Monday – Friday

HOURS: 7:00am – 3:00pm

JOB SUMMARY: To manage the integrity of the inventory process and purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels.

• Develops and implements inventory control procedures to improve inventory accuracy
• Perform cycle counts as needed
• Selects vendors, assesses vendor capabilities, develops alternative sources, evaluates vendor performance, and negotiates price and delivery
• Focus on driving down excess inventory
• Monitors purchase order acknowledgements and past due deliveries
• Maintain stock of indirect items such as material supplies and place purchase orders as needed
• Purchase office or maintenance needs not directly related to production
• Additional duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in manufacturing and inventory management
• Purchasing experience
• Ability to work individually or in a team environment
• Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with suppliers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and work with multiple projects at once
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to sit for long periods of time, 6-8 hours per day
• Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention
• Use hands for tools and typing
• Semi-frequently lift up to 30 lbs.
