Job Description
The Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator is responsible for the smooth operation of the reception area. They also enter patient information, answer patients’ questions, complete referrals and ensure that patients’ appointments are appropriately scheduled.
Duties and Responsibilities
Update patient demographics, verify insurance eligibility, coverage, and pre‐authorizations for the following day’s appointments.
Maintain records, fill clinical providers’ schedules, answer incoming calls, and accurately route messages.
Ensure the patients receive dental care and personal attention in a timely and professional manner.
Schedule appointments and follow‐ups according to the dental clinic’s reception manual.
Call patients to confirm the following day’s appointments by 10:00 am.
Fill cancellations and no‐show openings.
Ensure that all appropriate forms are completed before services are rendered.
Scan and attach forms to electronic dental charts.
Manage and maintain the recall system.
Set up daily patient transportation input information on NextGen before 2:00 pm.
Ensure and protect client confidentiality by keeping information and dental records secure.
Perform clerical and typing duties and provide secretarial support to the providers and Dental Manager, including faxing, referrals, correspondence, and minutes.
Maintain the reception area professionally, clean, and tidy.
Communicate clearly, listen accurately, open to feedback, handle conflict appropriately, and display sensitivity to others.
Collaborate well with others while promoting cooperation and teamwork.
Maintain the reputation and confidentiality of the health center and its clients.
Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Education / Licenses
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
High school degree, GED, or related.
One (1) year experience in Dental office environment preferred.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi‐task in a fast‐paced environment.
