Job description summary:
Our organization is seeking a highly skilled accounts payable clerk to be a member of our accounting department. This position is responsible for processing invoices for payment.
Essential duties & responsibilities:

• Review and verify invoices and check requests
• Sort, code, and match invoices
• Set invoices up for payment
• Enter and upload invoices into system
• Track expenses and process expense reports
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
• Prepare and perform check runs
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Maintain vendor files within software system
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Assist with month-end closing
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Maintain spreadsheets as assigned
• Assist other accounts payable areas as needed
• Recommend improvements in procedures
• Maintain close liaison with other departments
• Perform other duties as assigned
Experience & skills:
- Associate degree in accounting or equivalent accounting experience preferred
- Base knowledge of sound accounting procedures, principles, and laws
- Ability to recommend and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
- Flexibility to effectively adapt to changing conditions and job assignments
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word software
- Ability to work well with others
