Quality Control Manager

Highland Consulting Group is a national recruiting firm that specializes in placing top professionals with great companies within the construction industry.

We have a current opportunity available for a talented Quality Control Manager for a large growing mechanical contractor in the Columbus OH area. The primary responsibility for this position is to work with the project management to ensure the project specifications are being met and reported as needed. This is a permanent position with great benefits, full time work, and a great company. This position requires local travel.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the quality control plan and modify the plan if needed specifically to the project specifications
  • Perform routine inspections to assure that the project specifications are met by the fabricators, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Work with the fabricators management team on quality control issues.
  • Review cause and effects of welding defects and take remedial actions
  • Manage Quality Control program for specific mechanical piping, HVAC , plumbing, and BAS systems
  • Inspect orders for completeness, quality, and any shipping damage
  • Coordination with the Owners QA team, field inspectors and the Third Party Inspection Companies as needed
  • Prepare daily progress & status reports

Job Requirements

  • Solid Communication both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish timelines.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Solid proven and verifiable record of career stability and Quality Control success is a must.
  • Must be an idea guy with a passion to improve the process.
  • Experience: 5 years experience as a Quality Control inspector, past management of a team experience is highly preferred
  • CWI Certification highly preferred
  • Must have solid computer skills
  • Experience with Procore software is preferred
