Groundskeeper

Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, located in Lampe, MO is currently seeking a GROUNDSKEEPER to join the team! This team is responsible for maintaining the overall safety and appearance of the park. This individual will perform the maintenance and upkeep of all grounds including plants, trees, lawn areas, parking lots, drives, walkways, trails, ponds, water crossings, dams, irrigation systems, and snow and ice removal, along with other duties as assigned including working weekends and occasional overnights.

Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is a 10,000-acre slice of alluring Ozarks paradise offering hiking, biking, Segway tours, wildlife tram tours, horseback riding, and trout fishing. The vision of Bass Pro Shops founder/CEO Johnny Morris, the property serves as an outdoor playground that inspires visitors to get involved in wildlife conservation. A Day in the Life as a Groundskeeper

As a full-time groundskeeper, you will carry out the daily task of cleaning and maintaining the park grounds. This includes sweeping or blowing pathways, mowing turf, string trimming and edges around walkways, flower beds, bridges, rock walls, etc. Additionally, you will perform landscape tasks like planting, pruning, weeding, raking, and mulching as needed. Groundskeepers are responsible for cleaning the dams and water crossings of leaves, moss, algae, and debris. It is also within your job responsibility to cut and remove dead or hazardous trees and limbs. During the winter months, our grounds team removes ice and snow from the sidewalk and spread sand and ice melt. They also repairs walkways, trails, drives, and parking areas. You also need to be able to pressure wash bridges, patios, and walkways as well as apply fertilizer and pesticides.
