PURPOSE OF POSITION:
In this role, you will be a member of the Arthur Companies (ACI) R&D Team to help execute and train growers/agronomists on how to successfully apply for programs related to agricultural stewardship. This position provides a variety of technical and administrative assistance to support all aspects of programs, activities of ACI, and project partners in a direct effort to accelerate stewardship of agricultural lands. This role will be responsible for understanding program rules and updates, training growers/agronomists on how to apply to programs and related tasks associated with the process. This position will serve ND customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Expected to work cooperatively as a team player, participating regularly with conservation partners, project staff, and others to develop conservation programs and accomplish goals and objectives of established plans;
- Collaborate with the ACI agronomy team to create an outreach plan for their customers and deliver conservation services within the project area that includes their sustainability partner programming;
- Collect agronomic data to generate stewardship and profitability insights and support scenario development for improvements and revenue opportunities;
- Build capacity and expertise within the agronomy teams at ACI to increase knowledge of Districts programs, NRCS practices, and USDA and other state cost-share programs;
- Interface with Conservation Agronomists working with ag retailers across the U.S. to share best practices and help ACI bring a new go to market strategy around sustainability;
- With partners, develop and implement workshops and field days designed to educate growers, farm-related and grower-led organizations on best practices, and other innovative conservation systems that benefit natural resource quality and farm productivity;
- Build and nurture positive, long-lasting relationships with both existing and potential customers interested in relative ACI programs;
- Represent the company in the market, contributing to the establishment of ACI's reputation as a trusted partner in sustainable agriculture;
- Stay up to date on USDA Program policies to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the sustainable agriculture technology landscape;
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in agronomy, crop or soil science, environmental sciences or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience relative to role preferred
- Maintain a valid driver's license and insurability
- Understanding of agricultural practices in our region
- Understanding of basic agronomic and agricultural economic principles
- Capacity to develop and interpret soils maps and aerial photography
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills with the ability to work independently as part of a team
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a startup environment with broad responsibilities and a dynamic atmosphere
- Data collection and analytics
