Title: Maintenance Manager - (Central Shops Dept)

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading Central Shops, including the Machine Shop, Truck Repair Shop, and Roll Shops. Key objectives include Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance, cost controls, and driving results in areas such as productivity, asset management, people development, quality, and team maturity. The manager supervises approximately 10 salaried and 100 hourly resources, supporting the plant's craft training programs and overseeing Central Shops' objectives aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead tactical maintenance through the staff.
  2. Develop annual plans, objectives, and KPIs for the department.
  3. Establish processes to monitor and achieve annual goals.
  4. Hold the team accountable for objectives through performance management.
  5. Develop business presentations and proposals to expedite improvements.
  6. Maintain close working relationships with peers across the plant.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in machine repair, maintenance management, and the manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum of three years as a department manager.
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing multimillion-dollar department budgets.
  • Ability to lead organizational change and implement cost reduction initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Five years of experience managing and controlling plant-wide budgets exceeding $50M annually.
  • Three years of experience leading contractual negotiations with manufacturing unions.
