Job Title: Receptionist

Reports to: Office Manager

Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for front office reception and answering switchboard. Provide clerical support and assistance as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Answer switchboard.
• Transfer calls to the appropriate person.
• Take complete and accurate messages when necessary.
• Respond to basic information inquiries.
• Greet visitors/clients at the office entrance.
• Inquire as to the reason for the visit, name, etc.
• Escort visitors to appointments when required.
• Simple typing, filing, collating, copying, etc.
• Oversee lobby, opening and closing reception area, maintaining general neatness of entrance and lobby area.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Takes rotation of lunch hour lobby and phone coverage.
• Congenial and appropriate with all visitors, clients, etc.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities, Education and Experience:

• High school / General Education degree.
• Pleasant phone skills.
• Ability to work well in a busy environment and handle difficult situations appropriately.
• Ability to type at a working rate of speed.
• Ability to take initiative, use time productively, accept instructions, and work cooperatively with a wide variety of staff.
• Maturity and flexibility are necessary.
• Dependability.
• Prior office experience is desirable.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills are desirable.

Related Job Requirements: May be necessary to work outside regularly scheduled hours on occasion. Must have previous experience in a related field. Must have basic computer skills.
