POSITION SUMMARY & SCOPE:

At Post University, our Associate Faculty are dynamic, professional educators. Associate Faculty invest wholeheartedly in students’ future through their caring time, talents, expertise, and energy. This part-time remote position is in Post University’s online accelerated degree program (ADP). Applicable terminal degrees are required. The university reserves the right to fill positions as necessary under this posting. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides service to students in and out of the classroom through engaging classroom instruction in alignment with Post University’s Associate Faculty expectations.
  • Maintains subject matter expertise in and not limited to data mining, Data Management, Business Performance Management and Dashboards, Business Intelligence Tools, Decision Support, and Intelligent Systems.
  • While performing this role, adhere to all Post University best practices, protocols, policies, procedures, and applicable laws or regulations.
  • Nurtures creditable student relations through the highest quality student evaluations.
  • Other expectations are assigned and completed on a discretionary basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Under the direction of the PC or APC:

    Facilitate Class Instruction. The Associate Faculty member is responsible for teaching the assigned class in accordance with learning outcomes and syllabi specified by the Assistant/ Program Chair of the area and by the university.

    Classroom Management: The Associate Faculty member is responsible for adhering to all Post University policies and guidelines as they pertain to course conduct and academic expectations for engagement. As the primary contact with students in the course, the Associate Faculty member is expected to work closely with the Assistant/Program Chair and Student Advising to address areas of concern.

    Evaluate Student Performance. The Associate Faculty member is expected to administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics. All interim course grades will be posted on the Blackboard Grade Center. Final course grades will be posted in the university’s system, known as WebReg.

    Adhere to Course Guidelines. The Associate Faculty member is responsible for participating in any discussion boards, class discussions, and chat sessions as determined by the course. The Assistant/Program Chair shall set the required minimum. Still, it should be recognized that Post University requires all Instructors to fully engage students and maintain a high-touch effort with students.

    Respond Promptly to Grade Determination. The Associate Faculty member should submit grades for any assignments, discussion board exercises, and exams and course completion according to the established requirements.

    Input Final Grades in WebReg and into the Blackboard Grade Center (if applicable).

    As required, participate in and coordinate end-of-class “close the loop” meetings with APM.

Requirements:
All associate faculty members for this role must have at least a terminal degree and significant experience in their area of instruction. In addition, each Associate Faculty member must have college transcripts (official) on file with Associate Experience/Human Resources to be considered for employment. Each Associate Faculty member will also complete a training session before his/her first teaching assignment at Post University.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • A directly related doctoral-level degree is required.
  • College teaching experience (two or more years) is desired with the ability to teach students online using Blackboard.
  • Desire to experience 21st-century models of teaching and learning.
  • Possess integrity and work ethic.
  • Has superior relationship-building skills with students or other associates.
  • Demonstrates affinity for the mission of higher education.
  • Has computer and systems usage competency. Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Tableau, R and Power BI are desired.
  • Possess the flexibility to adapt to a changing and dynamic environment.
