Job Description
The Portage Country Club Culinary Department is looking to bring on a Seasonal Cook.
Job Summary
- Practice basic culinary knife skills and practices
- Work in a fast-paced environment while practicing proper sanitation procedures.
- Work directly with other line cooks and sous chef to ensure consistency and quality of food.
- Follow instructions and procedures through recipes.
- Help put away orders and the rotation of products following the FIFO methods
- Prepare work station ingredients and execute to the Executive Chef’s standards
- Working and preparation of fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables daily.
- Prepare items using basic cooking skills; grilling, baking, frying, braising, etc.
- Ability to make stocks and sauces
Skills/ Qualifications
- Practice good safety habits
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to prioritize work demands in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Culinary degree preferred.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with others.
- Willingness to learn and better themselves in the culinary field.
- Must be available to work all holidays.
