Manitou & Co is a brand new distillery and tasting room opening in downtown Leland in spring of 2024. We are looking for passionate and energetic individuals to join our team! As the leader of day-to-day operations, the Tasting Room Manager plays a crucial role. The manager will lead the team of tasting room associates, while working closely with customers to ensure all needs and expectations are met, answering questions and providing in-depth information about all things Manitou & Co. A successful manager will have a deep knowledge of the products being offered and most importantly a very strong understanding of the operations of the tasting room business.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full day-to-day operations of the tasting room business and staff
- Train and supervise staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain accurate records of inventories, sales, and expenses using internal POS system
- Lead by example, setting high standards for customer service, product knowledge, and salesmanship
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production team to ensure adequate stock and effective merchandising
- Take orders, prepare, and serve drinks/tasting flights to customers as needed
- Provide thorough descriptions and details of spirits and other products available for purchase
- Work collaboratively with other Manitou & Co team members to provide best in class customer service
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols in accordance with industry standards
- Perform other tasks as needed
Qualifications/Skills?:
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, tasting room or similar industry, with a proven track record of leadership required
- Strong written/verbal communication and excellent interpersonal skills
- Positive and outgoing personality in order to ensure the highest level of customer service
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Ability to work and lead a team in fast paced environments during the peak tourism season
- Availability to work both weekdays and weekends as needed throughout the season
- Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. with the occasional requirement of moving keg(s)
- Mixology Knowledge preferred but not required
- Keg/Draft system experience preferred but not required
- Applicants must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation
