Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently seeking an experienced Director of Manufacturing Operations to join our team.  This role reports to the General Manager at our plant in Bloomington, MN and is considered a critical member of the CPP-Minneapolis team, working closely with all departments and offers a competitive compensation & benefits package which includes a bonus program that is paid quarterly, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K with match, robust paid vacation & holidays. 

Major Responsibilities
  • Drive a culture of safety with all manufacturing team members
  • The Director of Manufacturing oversees all areas of Manufacturing to produce products and direct activities so that customer orders are manufactured on-schedule, within quality standards and meet cost objectives.
  • This position also plans, organizes, and directs the casting producing, casting processing and production planning activities consistent with Company objectives to maximize productivity at minimal cost.  
  • Coordinate the activities of department managers to ensure the accomplishment of production goals considering quality, sales, and delivery. 
  • Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards
  • Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan
  • Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
  • Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures
  • Act as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as, executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data
  • Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.)
  • Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards
  • Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
  • Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance

  • Education: Bachelors’ Degree in Business or Technical Degree
  • 10+ years of complex manufacturing and leadership experience required
  • Previous experience in the aerospace and/or casting industry preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrate intermediate or advanced skills in spreadsheet creation, data analysis (Excel), and presentation design (PowerPoint)
  • Six Sigma Certificate
