Air Export Operations Associate

A freight forwarding company is seeking an Air Export Operations Associate to join their team in Torrance, CA. This position is responsible for the activities and processes of the Air Operations department and for providing other general operations support as needed. A HS Diploma or higher and 1 year of air export experience in logistics are required. This is a full-time, non-exempt, in-person position with excellent benefits. [Mon-Fri, 9:00-6:00] ***Entry level candidates encouraged to apply*** Air Export Operations Associate Duties: -Process files from A-Z. -Maintains compliance standards at all times- including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations, and customer requirements. -Plans the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking into account the perishable or hazardous nature of goods, cost, transit time and security -Ensures appropriate packing, taking into account the climate, terrain, weight, cost and nature of goods and the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination -Negotiates contracts, transportation and handling costs -Arranges insurance and assists the client in the event of a claim -Arranges courier and specialist hand-carry services -Coordinates with Customs Broker and/or US Customs House as needed -Enters inventory information into the company’s database -Notifies customers of delays or other issues as needed -Effectively troubleshoots issues appropriately and in a timely manner when they arise Air Export Operations Associate Skills: -Must have 1 year of air export experience in logistics. -Must have a HS Diploma or higher -Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. -Ability to use a computer and such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook and be able to design custom reports as necessary.
