Assistant Director, Financial Aid

Kavaliro is seeking an Assistant Director, Financial Aid for a client in Lake County, FL. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day operations of the financial aid office, including application processing, award disbursement, and student counseling. Oversee the administration of Title IV aid programs, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, including Pell Grants, Direct Loans, and Federal Work-Study. Provide guidance and support to students and families regarding financial aid options, eligibility requirements, and application procedures. Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies for maximizing financial aid resources and supporting student retention and success. Supervise and mentor financial aid staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial aid transactions, reports, and documentation for auditing purposes. Stay informed about changes in financial aid regulations, policies, and best practices, and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance and efficiency. Assist with the development and execution of outreach initiatives, workshops, and presentations to promote financial literacy and awareness among students and the campus community. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, education, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial aid administration, preferably in a higher education setting. Supervisory experience, with demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team. In-depth knowledge of Title IV aid programs, regulations, and compliance requirements. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and external stakeholders. Proficiency in financial aid management systems and software, including experience with Ellucian Colleague or similar platforms.
