HOW YOU CAN HELP US:
As the Director of Quality and Technical Training, you'll lead our efforts in providing technical training and expertise to all ABC & Chem-free branches and locations. Your role is crucial in developing and administering technical and service-related training programs to ensure our field pest and lawn specialists have the knowledge and skills to excel in their roles. You'll serve as a subject matter expert, assisting with pest identification and handling pertinent issues.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Master's degree in Entomology or related field (Ph.D. preferred)
- Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) or Board Certified Entomologist (BCE)
- Minimum 5 years of previous relevant work experience in pest management
- Experience/Familiarity with 3rd-party audited accounts, FDA, FSMA, cGMPs, etc.
- Current TDA license in Pest, Termite, Lawn & Ornamental, Weed, Commodity & Structural Fumigation, and Wood Preservation
- Experience presenting state-approved CEUs and other presentations at industry conferences
- Experience in developing SOPs/Protocols
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking and technical writing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage projects, provide feedback, and coach team members
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to travel throughout the facility and to other ABC branches
- Must hold a valid driver's license with an issue date of at least five years prior to the date of this application.
Requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand, follow, and communicate all federal, state, and local pest control regulations for multiple Branches.
- Stay up-to-date on regulatory compliance and implement processes and documentation to meet requirements.
- Obtain and maintain required certifications through federal, state, and local agencies.
- Develop and administer training programs for field specialists and service managers.
- Evaluate and recommend new materials and processes, and assist in monitoring training progress.
- Create and develop continuing educational materials (CEU'S) and present training seminars.
- Accurately identify insect specimens/samples and recommend control strategies.
- Oversee QA/QC program for Pest and Lawn Care specialists.
- Maintain and grow company pest specimen collection for training and reference.
- Assist in proofreading company media and participate in favorable exposure activities for the company.
- Continuously increase professional knowledge and bring new ideas for discussion.

Schedule: M - F / 8 hr. office (on-site), occasional overnight travel required.
This is NOT a remote position / local applicants or those willing to move to Austin, TX.
Based in Austin, but may be required to travel to other branch offices (San Antonio, College Station, Corpus Christi & Rio Grande Valley)
