What You'll Get to Do:

The Instructional Systems Designer will serve as a member of the CACI contract team supporting U.S. Air Force (USAF) Headquarters, Air Education and Training Command's Future Operations Division (HQ AETC/A3X) in the Directorate for Operations and Communications (HQ AETC/A3/6) at Joint Base San Antonio Randolph in San Antonio, Texas. Develop training products using a systematic approach, adult learning theories, learning technologies, competency-based learning, and industry best practices for instructional design to create blended learning experiences that support customer and project objectives. Work closely with team members, including project managers, programmers, graphics artists, and editors/quality assurance specialists and collaborate with customers and subject matter experts to develop training curriculum.

More About the Role:

Responsible for the design and development of online training to support DL/BL training initiatives using education technology and asynchronous teaching methodologies in a Moodle-based Learning Management System to provide competency-based learning for on-command and on-demand delivery. Responsible for Ready Airman Training Moodle-based architecture administration, to include, but not limited to: Uploading new courses; Troubleshooting student and Unit Deployment Manager issues; Provide analytical support on Moodle effectiveness; Research and provide input on various innovative and evolving instructional methodologies and Moodle tools. Provide expertise in the use of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to include the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) processes to develop online and blended training programs.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • 4 years of experience as an Instructional Designer or Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Technology/Design or closely related field in lieu of experience.
  • Must have 3 years' experience in USAF MAJCOM and/or HQ Air Force staff officer experience.
  • Contractors must be familiar with USAF Learning Management System (LMS) and Air Education and Training Command's courseware development processes with emphasis on USAF readiness training and security cooperation.
  • Current SECRET (NATO) U.S. Government security clearance or ability to acquire a SECRET clearance.
  • Experience with Instructional Systems Design, Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) instructional design, and curriculum development at the post-secondary, or equivalent, level and applying the ADDIE methodology to the full life cycle of course development.
  • Experience developing learning content in Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, Lectora, or other Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) authoring software.
  • Ability to read, interpret, organize, and synthesize source material into well-written, concise learning products and ability to develop strategies for on-line learning.
  • Experience in conversion of training materials for IMI using current software/technologies.
  • Experience with online/blended learning education and training development and maintenance.
  • Experience developing training content compliant with Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM®) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Experience testing IMI Alpha, Beta, and final SCORM packages.

  • Served as an in-residence and/or online instructor.
  • An understanding of competency-based assessment, learning, and development.
  • An understanding of US Air Force foundational and occupational competencies.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$67,100-$141,000
