Job Position: Warehouse-Shipping/Receiving

Location: Laverne, CA 91750

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Shift: 1st 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Job Description:

• Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments involving orders/Inventory.

• Duties include verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material and arranging for the transportation of products.

• May prepare items for shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to routine materials.

• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.

• Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of material.

• Confer or correspond with established representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or non conformance to specifications.

• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

• Examine shipment contents and compare with records , such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.

• Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.

• Deliver or route materials to departments using pallet jacks, forklifts, or bins.

• Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.

• Manage bin transfers as needed

• Communicate effectively with other departments to confirm order details when needed.

• Provide direction to Receiving for incoming shipments.

• Updating and maintaining the shipping scheduler.

• Follow directions from Management

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bilingual English/ Spanish

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

• Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation

Physical Duties:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Team members must be able to stand for extended periods of time (Shift 8 hours)

• Team members must be able to lift up to 50lbs (for example, you may have to periodically move cases of liquids)
