As the Project Manager, Technology you will manage multiple, concurrent IT projects to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions in support of XPO business objectives.  You will serve as the projects primary point of contact between IT, business operations, external clients, internal business partners and vendors.  You will manage and be accountable for the project scope, schedule, budget, quality, communication, risk management, and issue management.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Oversee technology projects, including developing detailed and executable plans with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, risk and issue mitigation processes, and major milestones; manage the approved plans and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time and quality parameters
  • Provide project leadership to both internal departments and external clients; and communicate project requirements
  • Act as liaison between functional groups within XPO and clients during implementation and transition to ongoing support; ensure clear lines of communication between all teams
  • Develop presentations to communicate plans, status and risks to management, clients and other stakeholders

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • and combined experience below:
    • Proven experience managing multiple, concurrent, IT projects within budget and scope.
    • Proven experience managing the acquisition process to obtain goods and services required for the project, such as procurement planning, RFI/RFP preparation, source selection and administration
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal senior management.  Solid active listening, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates group presentation skills and excellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization.
  • Be able to prioritize regular workload, special tasks, and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with offshore and onshore team members in different time zones.
  • Business acumen and understanding of business drivers and issues surrounding a project.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.

It’d be great if you also have:

  • 4+ years as an IT Project Manager
  • Cross functional business experience including one or more of the following: technical project management, transportation management and IT solutions development.  Experience with vendor management desired.
  • Direct project management experience on medium to large IT projects with large projects (10 or more people for 9 or more months) being the norm over the past 2 years.  This includes working within a defined project management methodology and standard practices.
  • PMP certification
  • Experience using Jira
