ASL or Sign Language Interpreter Hiring

We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Paraprofessional, specializing in American Sign Language (ASL) support or Sign Language Interpretation. This position is available for the remainder of the school year and offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students.

Location: California, United States

Duration: ASAP - June 7, 2024 (Remainder of School Year)

Position Type: Full-time, 1:1

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to students requiring assistance with ASL munication.
• Facilitate effective munication between students, teachers, and staff.
• Assist in implementing educational and behavioral strategies as directed by the supervising teacher.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

For Sign Language Interpreter:

• Possession of a 4.0 or higher score on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or RID/NAD certification.
• Proven proficiency in ASL interpretation.
• Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience working in an educational setting preferred but not required.

For ASL Paraprofessional:

• Working towards a degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or related field.
• Working towards or possesses an EIPA score lower than 4.0.
• Passion for working with students and supporting their educational needs.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field of ASL support.
