What You'll Do:

As the High-Performance Computing (HPC) Application Support Engineer, you will support our DoD customer in Dallas, TX. The HPC Application Support Engineer will work alongside our government customer for a cutting edge program to serve as a functional and technical expert in developing system solutions to complex and challenging programs.


The High-Performance Computing Application Support Engineer:

  • Manages, deploys, and supports applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Collaborates with the team to customize applications and configure software development, integration, and production environments to specification.
  • Works with HPC vendors to identify hardware and software solutions to meet system requirements.
  • Monitors internally developed applications for impact to system performance and resource utilization.
  • Tunes applications to optimize performance and reliability of services across the High-Performance Computing (HPC) ecosystem.
  • Diagnoses application problems quickly and effectively.
  • Automates administration procedures for routine and complex tasks.
  • Provides backup HPC system administration support.
  • Coordinates with vendors to resolve software problems.


Requirements

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience supporting HPC applications and development environments on RHEL.
  • 2 years of experience in Linux/UNIX Systems Administration.
  • CompTIA Security+, RHCSA or RHCE certification.
  • Experience supporting internally developed applications in C, C++, Java, and Python.
  • Experience troubleshooting application execution through resource managers such as PBS Pro and Slurm.
  • Experience with utilities such as Git, Bitbucket, and Confluence, preferred.
  • You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • You have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision.
  • You have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Your organizational skills are impressive, allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
