JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Operations under the leadership of the Director, Manufacturing & Engineering will support the process to satisfy new and current customer demands for accessories. The Sr. Manager will manage a safe, highly efficient, state-of-the art accessories production system that fully meets the needs of the customers; as well as take action to enhance cross-functional coordination, expand internal communications, and develop operations associates in ASG. The position will be responsible for Operations, Safety, Facilities and Production planning as assigned. The position requires an experienced planning, safety and facilities operations leader who is able to drive results in a fast paced and demanding environment. Keys to success include the ability to lead several departments and deliver results in customer fulfillment as well as safety, quality, cost, and inventory management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead, motivate, reward, and develop the ASG Production, Maintenance, Safety and Planning teams as assigned and ensure their compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.

Planning & Operations

  • Reliable, consistent, on-site attendance is a requirement. This position requires you to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the business; including attending and participating in meetings and presentation.
  • Lead, direct and manage a high-volume logistics/production operation to ensure that the staff executes on delivering consistent high quality level service and customer satisfaction; and achieves a profitable, cost efficient operations in compliance with company policies and procedures, government requirements and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide leadership and support for the production environment; coordinate with the ASG administrative teams, warehouse, and customers to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Develop and implement a production operations, planning, safety and facilities strategy
  • Develop and ensure successful execution of production operations in order to meet safety, productivity, product quality, and cost targets.
  • Ensure that business meets its budget objectives related to CPU and Delivery
  • Develop and optimize sophisticated short-term and long -term materials and labor planning process that utilizes best available information and optimizes inventory, cost per unit, customer satisfaction, and labor utilization
  • Collaborate and partner with ASG Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Sourcing and be an ASG Steward for Concept of Operations
  • Prepare and analyze management and financial reports, budgets, expense reports and forecasts for department.
  • Utilize superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with peers, executives and customers.
  • Resolve employee relations issues that may arise in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.

Facilities

  • Maintain a clean, professional and safe working environment by inspecting and scheduling maintenance, and ensuring that all office and warehouse equipment is properly accounted for and in safe working condition.
  • Provide facility maintenance support highlighting safety and elimination of production down time as priorities in support of ASG business goals.
  • Develop and maintain Annual and Long Term Facilities Plans that will support ASG strategic business goals.
  • Sets the short term and long term strategy, expectations and goals for the Facility Department
  • Insure compliance to all Safety and Civil regulatory requirements.
  • Leads a program of continuous improvement in all Facility processes and procedures.
  • Works within the Enterprise and with outside vendors to provide a coordinated solution delivery.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, administers and directs the efficient operation of the buildings through the Facilities Department Staff
  • Ensures Preventive Maintenance, Work Orders and Safety inspections are completed and provide feedback on outstanding work.
  • Manage and oversee the work of outside consultants and contractors that support Facility maintenance.
  • Develop budget recommendations for both departments and manage adherence to approved budgets.
  • Lead major project initiatives. Projects can include but are not limited to system installations, bench marking, construction, process reengineering and improvements.
  • Seek continuing education for both self and associates to maintain appropriate facility support.

Safety

  • Risk Management - implement and develop strategic plans to minimize risk exposure:
    • Manage Workers Compensation Cost
    • Manage/Reduce Incident Frequency
    • Accident Investigations
    • Develop & communicate Safety Vision
  • Determine appropriate safety standards for safety compliance programs and create a "visual" safety environment/culture within ASG.
  • Educate, train and provide support to operations in the development and execution of consistent safety and environmental management programs. Evaluate operational practices to determine methods to eliminate or control workplace hazards.
  • Evaluate, measures and monitors processes to assess the overall safety and environmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and assist in writing Safety Manuals and monitor compliance and update
  • Review and select appropriate resource materials for safety training in the various operations - Conduct Train the Trainer programs, if necessary for ASG.
  • Develop Ergonomic analysis and programs for all associate positions- implement, train, and monitor compliance.
  • Cooperates in a cross-functional manner as a change agent with all departments within the facility.
  • Investigate and evaluate alternatives to utilize technology to move Safety forward.
  • Conduct needs assessments to design safety interventions.
  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
    • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
    • Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises one or more employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year College or university; plus 8 to 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and/or Kaizen experience.
  • Demonstrate leadership, team building, action planning, and coordinating skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current state-of-the-art logistics, transportation, and quality control systems
  • Understand ASG financial and productivity measurements.
  • Ability to Model/Forecast/Analyze future/current labor requirements, production requirements, product planning, prioritization and special requests
  • Ability to interact with individuals from all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a project, stay focused, delegate, and be efficient, organized and effective in managing multiple priorities, establishing meaningful goals, while meeting all commitments on a timely basis.

Compliance: Carries out responsibilities in accordance with ASG policies, customer contracts and applicable federal and state laws; including the EPA, OSHA, MSDS, & Texas health and safety laws.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels.

Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 10% of the time and on a domestic basis).
