Job Summary

Assists surgeon with procedures related to the care of patients of all ages during surgical intervention.

Job Duties

• Assists the manager with the activities of surgical team and ancillary personnel.
• Supervises assigned personnel when delegated by the manager in his or her absence.
• Provides input to assist the clinical registered nurse team coordinator with preparing and submitting reports.
• Assists with monitoring inventory and maintaining supplies for assigned service.
• Assists manager with supervising proper use and care of equipment, instruments and supplies.
• Assists the Equipment Technician with maintenance and repair of equipment and instruments.
• Participates in the evaluation of new equipment.
• Provides in-services on new products and equipment.
• Evaluates operations and recommends changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Assists the manager with instrument standardization and central sterile supply updates.
• Actively participates in Surgical Time and out and operating room briefing.
• Helps coordinate activities with other teams, sections and departments Assures adherence to regulatory agency requirements, safety standards and infection control procedures.
• Assumes Coordinator responsibilities as assigned.

Position Details

Applicants graduating from a Surgical Technologist program after December 31, 2020, will have 6 months from their date of graduation from the program to become Certified.

Work Schedule

• Hours: Rotating start times (6:30am- 9am)
• Weekends: No weekends
• Experience/Certification:1 year of experience is preferred.
• Travel: None
• Union: Yes
