Senior Accountant
Onsite in Reno, NV
$80,000-$100K/Annual DOE

*MUST HAVE SOLID AP/AR & GL SKILLS & ADVANCED IN EXCEL INCLUDING PIVOT TABLES.*
Manufacturing background experience preferred.

Senior Accountant performs a variety of accounting, and financial job tasks.  The position provides direct support to the Senior Controller and assists other Executive Directors and Managers when necessary. 
Incumbents must possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training and must be organized and dependable.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.
  • Manage all aspect of general ledger, cost accounting, payroll and inventory accounts.
  • Analysis of monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals and reconciliation of various accounts.
  • Meets accounting financial standards by providing accounting department annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions and preparing financial statements.
  • Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements.
  •  Prepare cash disbursements by verifying check amounts against invoices, oversees checks and wire transfers.
  • Approve ledger entries by auditing transactions.
  •  Oversees daily transactions (e.g., A/P, A/R, general ledger, and bank/credit card reconciliations).
  • Supports quarterly and annual audits by providing information and assists Senior Controller and Auditors.
  •  Prepare Sales and Use taxes, monthly and quarterly.
  • Works with HR regarding insurance deductions per employee through insurance invoices.
  •  Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Reviews all accounts at month end and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Heads the month-end process by organizing reports and reviewing financial statements for outages.
  • Define and manage internal controls, policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in all aspects of accounting in manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger, burden rate calculations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, Sales and Use tax, banking, and contracts.
  • Strong computer knowledge including, but not limited to, accounting software, Excel, Word (Microsoft), strong knowledge of spreadsheet applications.

  • This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
