Job summary:

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team at George Washington University Hospital. As an OR Nurse, you will be responsible for providing patient care in the surgical environment, managing and preparing the operating rooms, and assisting surgeons during procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Assist with the positioning of patients on the operating table and monitor their vital signs.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on preoperative and postoperative care.
  • Participate in continuous education and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of Washington D.C, or endorsment eligible
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an operating room setting.
  • CPR and ACLS certification required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-stress environment.
