Carpenter / Flooring Installer Apprentice Full Time

Job Summary
Village Home Stores is looking for recent or upcoming high school graduates as carpentry and flooring installation apprentices to join our team! Why pay tuition to learn a trade when you can get paid to learn with us?! This 4 year apprenticeship program trains you in both carpentry and flooring installation skills and allows you to choose your focused interest/trade on our team after just one year. Start working with us right out of high school and begin your career as you train in your trades position.
Working in the home remodeling and construction industry is exciting and rewarding. Every job we work on is different from the next. You will join our established and busy team of staff tradespeople. This position is right for you if you are self-motivated, energetic, and enjoy helping people. Ideally, you are driven to provide the highest level of customer service and satisfaction and able to effectively manage a variety of situations on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities:

• Work with and learn from a team of carpenters and subcontractors on our kitchen and bath remodel projects
• You will be trained by our experienced carpenters and flooring installers and work hands-on alongside our team on real home projects for our customers. By year 3 you will be expected to visit jobsites independently and complete tasks you have been trained to do
• Throughout this 4 year apprenticeship you will hone skills and techniques within your focused trade on our team and continue to learn on-site with each project and product install
• Follow directions, read plans and drawings, and complete tasks assigned to you
• Be comfortable using app-based project management software to communicate with out team, our subcontractors, and our customers
• Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 to 100lbs.

• Must be able to work independently, stay on task, and use time-management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective relationships with current customers, contractors, and employees
