This role requires an individual who is professional and a culture leader who displays the drive, determination, and self-motivation to coordinate and drive results, partnering with service teams and sales teams at the direction of the IAS VP/Director.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Working with the IAS VP/Director and other stakeholders in creating, implementing, and conducting training for IAS Staff as well as field staff, agents and Member Service Specialists. This role would act as a liaison between IAS and the Field Sales organization.
  • Embrace, promote and support the corporation goals of IAS, providing alternative products to the agents when VAFB is not able to provide coverage, thereby increasing membership.
  • Solicit feedback from Field Sales team to identify opportunities to enhance the brokerage sales experience in order to optimize the use of brokerage companies and by doing so growth of brokerage.
  • Assist VAFB trainers with ongoing training/development about IAS products/partners as needed. Deliver training to the VAFB training team using various learning methods, a variety of techniques or formats to best meet the learning needs of the trainee (e.g., in person, virtual, written, computer based, role playing, simulations, individual, group)
  • Work with partners and other interested parties to align training with programs and products that IAS partners may have to offer. Ensure that training materials are up-to-date and meet the needs of IAS and is distributed to the field.
  • Evaluate training content and materials for accuracy and effectiveness, while evaluate training delivery methods to maximize a cost vs quality balance.
  • Be an expert in the material used and the topic being trained and assure organizational standards and expectations are clearly articulated.
  • Support Broker Standards audits and comprehensive desk audits of all licensed staff for operational compliance per our partner contracts as directed by the IAS VP/Director
  • Pursue professional studies yearly and maintain familiarity with trends in the industry and new insurance products of IAS partners.
  • To coordinate office visits by the IAS Partners as requested by our partners and authorized by the VP/Director of IAS
  • To be the SME for Applied Rater, Partner Portals, and the IAS Help File.
  • Manage the unpaid brokerage membership policy maintenance program (working on chargebacks and reassignments as well) to provide reports as requested.
  • Manage downloads; policy data; data management to ensure report accuracy inside our agency Management system, Nexsure. Handling/processing books of business transfers in Nexsure.
  • Ability to provide back up as needed various positions for team; operations and production side (responding to brokerage emails, contacting agents on missing paperwork such as loss runs, MVRs, online quotes for PL and bonds)
  • Must work in a designated office space to project a professional virtual classroom environment, some remote work may be available (not 100% remote).
  • Any other duties as appropriate and assigned by IAS Management.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have and maintain a current state VA P&C license.
  • 7+ years’ insurance industry experience (carrier and/or broker) required, across a variety of roles, and have in-depth insurance knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines policies/coverages in both the standard and E&S marketplace.
  • minimum of 5 years of experience in training and development, with a proven track record of success in creating and delivering effective learning experiences.
  • excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to facilitate learning and manage training programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Zoom or equivalent and internet utilization.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, written, excellent technical and oral communication skills.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail – effectively organize and plan work, set priorities, and execute action plans.
  • High enthusiasm, team-oriented, positive, highly energetic, and results-oriented
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new systems and processes.
  • Required Travel: Will be required to be part of this position, would expect approx. 20%-25% of your time spent throughout the state providing presentations and/or workshops with the VAFB trainer team and Sales organization.

MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of brokerage operations including claims handling, commercial lines rating, agency management system, and applicable insurance laws/codes
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts
  • Excellent time management, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of self-motivation and self-direction
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Organization, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to cultivate positive relationships
  • Attention to detail

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous Independent Agency/Carrier Experience
