We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced production planning & inventory specialist. This person will receive incoming shipments and ensure accurate inventory levels, optimize inventory processes, and minimize costs

Job Responsibilities
  • Receive, unpack, inspect, store incoming material, products, tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory
  • Frequently prepare inventory records and reports and investigate discrepancies
  • Entering finished goods inventory in the system
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to gather insights that may impact needs.
  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels.
  • Coordinate and Schedule inbound and outbound freight
  • Act as a liaison between Production, Customer Service, Plant Manager and Purchasing
  • Regularly review and analyze key performance indicators related to inventory management.
  • Implement strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems for inventory control and visibility.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Regularly review and update inventory policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and maintenance, to align inventory strategies with overall business goals.
  • Communicate effectively with managers and employees to ensure a smooth flow of information.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis of inventory data.
  • This person will receive incoming shipments, inspect and store in a timely manner
  • Must be able to operate forklift, overhead crane, jib crane, straps and rigging for lifting, pallet truck and banding tool, as necessary
  • Maintain, clean, and organize receiving dock daily
  • Use Netsuite ERP, Excel, Word, Outlook and other related software to plan, schedule and communicate
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Minimum Qualifications
  • Vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 75 pounds
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing ore warehouse environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with manufacturing software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
